During October 5, 6 and 7 IQ Latino had the honor of attending the South Summit 2021 held in Madrid organized by Spain-Startup. It is the largest annual event in Southern Europe that brings together entrepreneurs, investors, startups and corporations from Spain and the world of innovation. An initiative that serves to consolidate the positioning of the global connection, innovation and business platform. It counts the participation of the 100 best startups in the global and national ecosystem, chosen from among more than 3,800 projects submitted to the Startup Competition, with 75% of international origin, coming from more than 124 countries. The event featured figures of great Spanish influence such as the King of Spain, President Pedro Sanchez, The Mayor of Madrid, Jason Silva and a large number of CEOs and world-class Innovators of the 21st century.
Sustainability and the objectives for progressive development are the fundamental pillars of this summit. In the event you could find the presentations and innovation projects with a social and technological addition to turn it into a more advanced scenario tomorrow. “A meeting point between today’s opportunities and tomorrow’s reality” was the motto of the meeting. In these three days we were able to observe initiatives ready to change the planet. Participating in areas such as climate change, engineering, fintech, artificial intelligence, video games, medicine, and many more. Each of the finalist initiatives in this competition had great world leaders and most of them Ibero-American.
The creation of a space like this is to promote a structure for the future adapting to the technological evolution in which we live. The idea is that if places like Shanghai, Silicon Valley, Amsterdam can be innovation centers of the world, Iberoamerica can also be one. This is why the next edition of South Summit 2022 will be in Porto Alegre Brazil, one of the mos innovative cities of LATAM. We hope to see more of these innovators next year. The Closing speaker said that we are humans with paleolithic minds, Middle age laws and the technology of Gods, it’s time for us to adapt our minds to the technology we have.
